Chez Ennio in Montreal

My first time here (2nd time for my gf). Best Italian experience ever. Mr. Ennio was kind and honest. I'm a cook too and I can see how Mr. Ennio loves what he does and definitely going back for the rabbit with more wine :)

Very unique spot, definitely worth the visit as many have mentioned its a little bit of a wait for the mains. Everything came out perfectly and within a reasonable time frame. Kudos to you Ennio, keep on doing what you're doing!

Went to Ennio's restaurant with my family. Great food and great ambiance. Three of us had fettucini Alfredo and on had tortellini. The food was fabulous and the portions large. The evening we were there the restaurant was a one man operation with Ennio cooking and serving the guests all by himself.

Have lots of fun in this such tasteful place. The chef Ennio is a very kind gentleman. Super good homemade Italian food. You deserve to try this great restaurant!

We fell into this delightful little jewel by accident. Chef Ennui (80 years old, cook, waiter, bottle washer) has been at this location for 40 years delivering some of the finest Italian food this side of Venice. A great experience for locals or travellers alike. He is not licensed to sell wine, but you can slip next door and buy a bottle of wine to bring back. Be prepared to spend your evening there, listening to his stories and sampling his fine food... a 10 out of 10!

My mother-in-law's favorite restaurant. She turned 84 two weeks ago and we decided to reserve a table to celebrate. Delicious food, perfect service and authentic family ambiance (as usual). Hope this restaurant will remain open until the end of time. To my knowledge, Ennio is one of the last genuine old-school italian restaurants in Montreal. Enormous portions like in the old time and affordable menu. Can't believe someone would complain about this place. I invite my fellow Montrealers to support this jewel.

Atmosphere at Chez Ennio is just lovely. A quiet little restaurant, that makes you feel like you are miles outside of downtown Montreal. The portions are generous; two could have easily shared the enormous plate of fettucine alfredo I ordered! The pasta was quite good, but i don't believe it is home made. Regardless, I liked the dish I chose. My boyfriend ordered a veal dish, which was good, but not the best. All in all, it was a different experience in the heart of the city.

Cozy ambiance, homemade fresh pasta and the most awesome "grandpa" host. What is not to like??

Cute and cozy little restaurant run by the owner himself and sometimes a helper. It's a great place to chill and chat with friends/dates with your own wine. Meals are great but come out slow since the friendly grandpa cooks everything himself so it's not for people in a hurry to grab a meal.

BYOB (Liquor stores available nearby). Plan for a long, delicious and entertaining meal.

We visited Ennio tonight, and had a really beautiful experience! The food was incredible! Absolutely delicious! As others have mentioned, prepare to spend your evening here. But know that it is entirely worth it! Came out of here relaxed and extremely well fed! Oh and you can bring your own wine!
